About The Author

The Hungry Viking is Andrew Seidel, a senior at Salem State University majoring in Professional Writing. Over the past three years, Andrew has lived in three different Res Halls on campus and in one apartment off campus. Throughout this time, he has been confronted with the constant struggle of eating good food on a low budget.

Andrew, like many students around campus, is largely confined to the Greater Salem Area. The lack of reliable transportation in his life contributes to many of his food choices as much as his income (or lack there of) does. As a result, the dining establishments at and around Salem State have become staples for Andrew, as they have for many students.

These experiences as a "college eater" have inspired Andrew to publish this blog for current and future Salem State students. The Hungry Viking understands the value of a dollar spent on food, and wants to ensure that other Vikings are getting the most out of eating around Salem. From the dining halls to the pizza shops to your apartment's kitchen, this blog is here to help guide you through the important decisions of a college eater.
